Jakarta, 4 November 2017 – Committed to continuing to help promote children's growth, PT Nutricia Indonesia Sejahtera supported Ayodi's (Ayo Fairy Tale Indonesia) activities in the 2017 Indonesian International Fairy Tale Festival which was held on 4-5 November 2017 at the National Library of Indonesia.
The Indonesian International Fairy Tale Festival (FDII) is an annual event held by the Ayo Ayoeng Indonesia Community (Ayodi) which is routinely held since 2013. With the theme “Magic Story”, FDII 2017 will involve 50 storytellers / performers from within and outside the country, as well as around 150 volunteers who will bring stories to all children of the country, both in Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Aceh.
“In addition to fulfilling the right nutrition, Nutricia is committed to helping children's cognitive intelligence for optimal growth. This year, we also demonstrate that commitment through Danone employees who are very passionate about bringing tales to entertain and educate children about healthy lifestyles,” said Arif Mujahidin, Communications Director of Danone Indonesia.
Education through various channels is important, considering that Indonesia still has a double burden of nutritional problems, which are excess nutrition (overweight) and lack of nutrition (stunting). Especially in Indonesia, 37.2% of toddlers, or around 84 million people, suffer from stunting. This problem cannot be overcome by just one person instantly, but requires education about food, to lifestyle. Nutricia hopes that storytelling can be an interesting tool to educate children about it.
For the above conditions, Nutricia through the Bintang Nutricia program feels that fairy tales can be a psychological bridge between parents and children and also as a very appropriate medium to provide an understanding of nutrition in the process of child development.
“Bintang Nutricia has the responsibility to equip its parents and children with an understanding of nutrition and patterns of child development in the future.” Storytelling is one of the right media to convey the values of home regarding the importance of nutrition, moral values, morality and character building in the process of growth and development," said Fauziah Syafarina Nasution, a representative of Bintang Nutricia in a nutritional fairy show. at FDII 2017.
At FDII 2017, Danone Indonesia employees participated in volunteering to entertain children with two stories aimed at introducing children to fruits and vegetables, and teaching children about healthy lifestyles. “Through the Story of 'Penyihir Muka Asam dan Dita' presented by Danone employees who are members of the Bintang Nutricia program, we want this story to be recited by parents to their children. So there will be more children who like healthy food, especially vegetables and fruits,” continued Fauziah.
