Surabaya, July 14, 2019 - Experts say that we currently live in VUCA World, where the world is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. In this ever changing and increasingly competitive era, it is important for parents to prepare the Little One to be strong in the face of the future. Understanding this, Nutricia through Nutrilon Royal presented Raise Them Ready Roadshow as a venue to share inspiration and education through talkshows and family date with pediatricians and psychologists, discussing the importance of nutritional intake, stimulation, and purposeful exposure so that your child grows into tough character and ready to face challenges in the future.

Jeannette Giovani as Brand Manager of Nutrilon Royal said that with the rapid development of the world today, the toughness of the Little One does not only depend on the physical, but also requires proper stimulation and strong character development. "Nutrilon Royal believes that the most effective learning process is by direct practice, so we present Raise Them Ready Roadshow in Surabaya so parents can learn directly from experts. They can also participate in a series of parent and child activities to hone the tough character of the Little One, learn how to assist children to be persistent by being ready to fall and wake up again, be brave by facing their fears, and learn to deal with unfamiliar situations, "Jeannette said.

Through educational activities Resilience Talkshow with pediatricians and psychologists and Family Date Purposeful with RockStarGym and Dandelion House, parents are expected to get to know their children better while also getting inspiration on the most appropriate way to guide child growth and development. This was also conveyed by Dr. Mira Irmawati, Sp.A as a Child Specialist that many important factors play a role in the development of a child. "Genetics, nutrition, environment — including stimulation, are some of the factors that parents need to consider. This stimulation is very important because it supports the development of children to ensure the maturity of their bodily functions such as fine motor skills, gross motoric, language, social & independence, physical, creative, to cognitive. But it should be noted that stimulation involves multi-sensory and it is likely that the child will be exposed to germs and other foreign objects. Therefore, giving meaningful activities needs to be followed by strong endurance and good thinking skills so that they can be ready to explore the environment and learn new things. This good immune system can be built from the beginning through the fulfillment of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients, "Mira explained.

In line with the child's physical, another important factor that plays a big role for the child to be tough in facing the future is character. This was justified by Ajeng Raviando, Psi. , M.Si as a Child & Family Psychologist, who emphasized the importance of planting character from an early age. "A strong character from an early age will prepare the child to deal with changes and certain situations in life such as failure, stress, challenges, new environments, which will certainly provide meaningful life experiences for them," said Ajeng. According to him, there are five tough or resilient characters who should be honed early, namely brave, confident and willing to take risks; independent, not dependent on others; persistent, willing to try to do something until it's finished; adaptive, easy to adjust in every situation; and a lot of sense, can act quickly and effectively in various situations and are good at finding solutions.

Development of resilient character can be done through stimulation through new experiences or meaningful activities for children, with the hope that there will be a measurable transformation in the child, for example after playing flying fox the child looks excited and bolder to try other games without the need to be encouraged by parents. Ajeng added that meaningful activities can be carried out and adjusted at each phase of the child's age. "For example, at the age of 1 year and above, children can be invited to play outdoors, 2-3 years old children can be taught a variety of new abilities such as riding a bicycle and swimming, then at the age of 4-6 years children can be invited to take a walk to nature open like mountains and beaches. With good immunity, you don't need to worry about introducing stimulation, especially in the outdoors, to form a strong character for the Little One, "explained Ajeng.

Surabaya was chosen as the second city where Nutrilon Royal continued the series of events in the Raise Them Ready Roadshow that had previously been held in Jakarta on 28 April. As a city that won the Child Friendly City award 2018 for the main category from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, it is hoped that the Resilience Talkshow and Family Date Purposeful activities can inspire the Surabaya family to further encourage their children to become strong and accomplished individuals.

This character test complements the skills test that has been launched since 2018 to find potential through 6 types of skills, namely cognitive, verbal, fine motor, creative, interactive and fission, which aims to help parents identify their child's abilities.

"We believe that the role of the family is very important in determining the child's readiness to face the future, and hopes that this series of Raise Them Ready Roadshow events can further inspire parents to develop strong children's character, making them feel safe and calm that their children will be ready "face this increasingly complex and changing life," concluded Jeannette.
